WINTER LAWN CARE AND SPRINKLER SYSTEM WINTERIZATION. -DECEMBER TIPS AND RECOMMENDATIONS-

As we finally experience cooler temperatures and winter approaches, plants are starting to prepare for dormancy. However, it is only once we reach the first freezing conditions that plants will be fully dormant. Grass will turn brown, which is completely normal.

Records show that the first freezing conditions usually occur around mid-December. At that time, we will send you a video on how to winterize your sprinkler system. Please feel free to reach out if you need any assistance.

Our winter care recommendations:

- Water your lawn 3 days a week, maintaining the same duration for each watering session.
- For St. Augustine grass with some brown patch, reduce watering duration by half.
- Brown patch thrives in cool, moist conditions, but it only affects the grass color. The grass will
return healthy next season. We continue to treat the area to help suppress the brown patch.
- Mow your lawn every two weeks.
