As we head into June, temperatures start to rise—and so do the demands of your lawn. At Green ER Lawn, Trees & Pest, we know how important it is to keep your yard looking its best through the summer heat. That’s why we’ve put together our top Summer Tips & Recommendations to help your lawn stay green, healthy, and weed-free all season long. 1. Water Early in the MorningThe best time to water your lawn is between 1:00 AM and 2:00 AM. Watering during these early hours helps reduce evaporation and allows moisture to soak deep into the soil where your grass needs it most. 2. Water More FrequentlyInstead of watering heavily just once or twice a week, aim to water five days a week, using the same duration each time. Frequent, light watering keeps the roots cool and hydrated—essential for surviving the summer heat. 3. Spot Check for Dry AreasIf you notice yellow or dry patches, don’t worry! These areas may just need a little more attention. Try adjusting your sprinkler heads or adding a few extra minutes of watering time in those specific spots to help them recover quickly. 4. Mow at the Right HeightRaising your mowing height helps your lawn hold moisture longer and protects it from heat stress. Here's what we recommend: 🌿St. Augustine: mow up to 3.5 inches 🌿Bermuda or Zoysia: mow up to 2 inches Taller grass means stronger roots and better resistance to drought and pests. 5. Tackle Weeds WiselyDealing with nutsedge or other weeds? Try reducing watering time by 1–2 minutes in those areas. Weeds thrive in moist environments, so a little less water can slow their growth without harming your turf. A healthy lawn doesn’t happen by accident—it’s built with consistency, care, and the right know-how. By following these simple tips, you’re giving your lawn the best shot at thriving all summer long.
At Green ER Lawn, Trees & Pest, we’re here to help you every step of the way—whether it’s adjusting your sprinkler schedule, identifying problem areas, or tackling tough weeds. Keep it green, stay cool, and don’t forget to enjoy your yard this summer! Comments are closed.
